Which camera should i buy around QR 1500?

Friends, i am going on holiday and want to buy a good camera but have no clue. What should I go for? Canon, Nikon, Sony , Olympus or panasonic? Need HD video option also, so which model is the best? Should i insist on Lithium or are AA batteries good enough? Thanks in advance.

I got a kodak m575 14.1 mp, HD Recording, 5x optical zoom, 4 gb card. It is really a excellent camera for 669 QAR from carrer four...

panasonic lumix tz series..with high optical zoom..12x or more,but still very compact.excellant performance..
