There is a little-known but really good Qatari restaurant in the Madinat Khalifa area called "Meshwar Al Khaleej", located kind of across from the traffic police (other side of the big road) down a side street with lots of little shops around it. Tel: 487-6685. They serve excellent traditional Gulf food, including harees. Staff there don't speak much English but the prices are good, portions are nice sized, and it is very traditional Qatari food.
1. In a steet named Mogwalina (Behind M.P. Traders), there is a masjid known as Sudani Masjid, which a Thai Resturant named Thai Smile, just beside it a arabic restaurant with lots of Qatari's generally waiting in Land Cruisers. You will often see the waiters dressed in Blue. You can get harees from there. 1 tray cost about 15 QRS and its yummy tasty.
2. Second is the place as mentioned near Ramez (Airport Road) near this superbike repair shop (i Think Dream Team) there is a shop named HAREES, written in arabic. You get nice Harees from there as well.

you can find many shops in OLD SOUQ ( SOUD WAQIF). they open their shop at 4.00.
Available in most supermarkets, usually found around the flour, but sometimes with the dried beans and pulses.
I think it's also in Carrefour in the big drums where the nuts and raisins are.
