The festive season is fast approaching and I want to know where I can get Dates from. Do they sell them in the Middle East or is it just in the UK at Christmas time? I used to get them in oblong white boxes - without pips - and a clever stick made of plastic wedged down the middle to pick them up for eating - they are delicious and the sort of thing I am looking for.

I saw ' self basting ' turkeys in Carrefour today ! Arent those Frenchies clever! Imagine that - you shove the turkey in the oven and it pops out every half hour, grabs a spoon and bastes itself ! Vive la france et Joyeaux Noel I say !
