I am sorry if this question has been posted before. I have checked the search facility and not found the answer I was looking for.
I am going home to the U.K on vacation in December and I wanted to take some Arabic gifts/trinkets/souviners back.
Somebody a while back mentioned on here that there was a good shop on airport road? I cannot find the listing.
Please could somebody tell me were to get some good traditional gifts.

First of all, i hope that you'll enjoy your holiday in the uk. Second for your question i have the good place to buy good arabic/islamic souvenirs. you should go to city center to second or third floor you can ask for expo center it's from the side opposite to carrefour (near the food court but not the buzy one)

In Souq Waqef there are lots of Qatar native (local) made souvenirs there.
You have two options.
1. Go to the Souq.
2. There is small Kiosk at Villagio close to the Virgin MegaStore that have some coffee mugs, keychains, Mats, Tshirt and more souvenirs... the same articles you can get it in the City Center in one store, I cant remember the name but if you are in the level of Carrefour get the Stairs that go to the Cinema. in the First level is the big store at the left. They sale, Samsonites and Swarosky.
Also if you are in the main entrance of the City Center take a left and there is a small kiosk that have camel bone boxes... quite expensive but traditional hand made souvenirs...

There are many Christmas Bazaars being held this month, which have many wonderful items. The American Women's is going on today at the Intercon hotel - until 4 pm. You can also check the www.expatwomanqatar.com website for future ones.
