Hi i went on Vaccation,as I met an unfortunate accident and got a hair line fracture.

Dr. Advice me to have three weeks plaster and rest so I have been Extended my Leave up to 10 Days

Now i came back and Apply in my Company to Calculate this as Sick leave  but They Rejected

If you fell sick in your home country(means outside Qatar) and in your annual or any type of leave, by Law, you cant claim sick leave. We had one such case a month ago with 1 employee. Then I visited Labor Ministry to get further advise, they said NO SICK LEACE PAYMENT IF SICK OUTSIDE QATAR.

If you fell sick within Qatar, then you have every right to get 1st 2 weeks of sick leave with full salary payment, next 4 weeks with half salary payment for sick leave.

Having said that, I worked in Dubai, there we used to pay employees even if they get sick outside UAE. (Of course by providing authenticated Documents.)

Even in Qatar, a Company can have a policy of paying sick leave whether sick outside on within Qatar boundaries, but that depends how employee friendly organization/company is ..

Best of Luck!

This overseas medical certificate needs to be ratified by any local HMC doctors, then only this will be accepted on medical grounds. I did it once.

Did you present complete documents including hospital admission & medical certificate? It should be accepted.
