I thought DASMAN and LULU won the bid to sell pork in Qatar. Was this just a rumor?

Most out here who like Pork have their fridge/freezer stocked with pork

It's imported in. However right now only the American base is importing it in. The hotels are looking at the feasibilty of introducing it. There's a chance they could drive off their Qatari clientele.

I did not know that there was a license for pork, and where is the supplier?

Normally I get pork from 70 to 75 Riyals per kilo. in Qatar, but last time I was in vacation I bring it with me and no problems in custom.

As of now the lisence is only being given to select 5 star hotels and the American Military base. None of the 5 stars are using their lisence yet unfortunatly.

agietra, alcohol is available at the Qatar Distribution Center and most of the Hotels and Clubs. Pork (and pornography :P) are the only things that are not readily available.

You must have a liscense to be allowed to have pork in Qatar. However people do bring it into the country all the time in their suitcases.
