Can someone please tell me the price range of new sony MP3 player, digi cam and Dell laptop in Doha. Should I bring my own ? I just thought I want to get some new ones there. I heard that electronic goods are tax-free. Your suggestions are welcome.

A good scheme for doing this is to goto www.aramex.com and join their "Shop and Ship" scheme. It costs US$40 for life, and if you leave Qatar and goto another country, Q8 for eg, you can transfer your account to there. What you get for your 40 bucks is a mailbox address in the US and one in the UK. This gets you round the online firms that won't ship outside those 2 countries. Shop and Ship only leaves about 3 x per wk, and costs round 50QR/kg, pretty reasonable. I find it's around 10 days from ordering online in the US to the goods arriving here. You can track yr shipment online and Aramex sms txt's you when your stuff gets here. Superb service. Check it out.

Sony 256MB is around QR400+ and Sony 512MB is around QR600+. Thats what I saw when i was buying mine. Also, I'd suggest getting an iPod instead. Dell Inspiron and Latitude are QR5500-7500. Even though Dell has low compatibility with most of the stuff. Also in Laptops, Toshiba owns, as almost everyone knows. And about the Digi Cam... i have no idea, never really got into that stuff, lol.

Jimmy they are not that cheap here. Although theoretically VAT is very low here the shops don't factor that in to their prices. I buy most of my stuff from the internet as it is cheaper

offcourse bring ur own, even if it is cheaper it would only be 10% less, even so these things would be 4 kg or so if that
