You should have one store that stocks cheaper, good quality clothing from the UK, such as the supermarket brands George sold at Asda, TU sold at Sainsburys, and Cherokee sold at Tesco. You would have a huge client base as their clothes are very good quality and very affordable compared to the typical high street brands. Also consider PRIMARK. People would go gaga at the prices.

for sure there r many gud brands which r not yet available in doha...i go all the way to dubai JUS to shop in these few shops for my baby boy

1. Okaidi ( very reasonable , very trendy n a sure hit if opened in doha)

2.Verbaduet (again very reasonable n a must have shop)

3.IKKS(expensive but beauitful clothes)

4.Monsoon ( all the monsoon in middle east have only gals collection, their boys collection is absolutely stunning).

there r many more...but many b more expensive...the ones i have listed all hav beautiful clothes. ofcourse benotton, H&M,mamas and papas, all have gud ones...but okaidi is simply the best and so is verbaduet.

It depends on if you are trying to attract parents buying for younger kids or teens. The stores are very different depending on who you want to reach.

There are definitely tons of stores that target kids, but they're all run-of-the-mill stores that carry "known" brands (usually their own) -- Pumpkin Patch, Baby Gap, Chico, Mamas & Papas, etc.

There are no stores, to my knowledge that feature non-chain store items/brands (i.e. boutique brands) - like Zutano, Baby Nay, Jottum, Kissy Kissy, Room Seven, Tra la la, etc.. . .along with some organic lines and some semi-local brands like Aunty Ollie http://www.auntyollie.com/ (out of Dubai).

It would be great to have a store like Giggle http://www.giggle.com/ , too, with trendy brands (beyond just Bugaboo), gorgeous wooden toys, and high-end items.

I feel like Qatar has the population and the demographics to support a store like this, provided that the right people were operating it, marketing it, etc.

I'm not up for starting a store, but it's on my "wish list" and I'd certainly shop there :)

How about a cheap store (aka Reject Store), where you get the high street brands at cheap prices. (i,e goods that have been rejected by the clothing line companies and are then sold on direct from the factories to distributing shops)

What about toys ??? Will you be selling them also ??

Couple of bvrands to add on: Jeep, Wrangler, Levis + Adidas, Nike etc.

Expat Sueno, there are quite a few shops that target kids. They aren't doing that well, unfortunately. KEKOS closed. In Italy, it is a leading kids brand.

What do you suggest?

One thing that is sorely lacking in Qatar is a baby/children's boutique. The "standard" brands, and a few "high end" brands are available. . .but the truly unique and fun brands are not. I honestly believe that anyone who opened a children's boutique would be very, very successful provided that he/she had some guidance on what to sell.

jafarnk, you are talking about the full grown kids mall that I read about it, soon to open in Ma'amora? So you want to import brands?

Can you explain the concept of the mall? We have 6 kids brands that we tried to bring to Qatar, but no mall would give us space.

Thanks!
