Finally bought an espresso-cappuccino maker!!
After searching high and low, someone on QL recommended a store that sells nice (Saeco, Gaggia) espresso machines. I was primarily looking at the Saeco, and I would say that they have ~8 models for home use and ~5 models for office use (not including the giant stand-up vending-type machines).
The store is called Moka Co. and it's located on Salwa Road in the same stripmall as K.A. (on the Marhaba map, just above the Wholesale Market roundabout).
The men in the store are very nice and knowledgeable about the machines. Any repairs are done either in your home (love it!) or, worse case scenario, in the store.
They gave me a 10% discount for paying cash plus a QR82 bag of espresso beans plus a set of six espresso cups/saucers. I had to work quite a bit to get the discount, by the way. . .they're not handing out discounts, to say the least.
I am one very happy customer, and tomorrow I will be all narced up on caffeine as well :o)
Expat Sueño
Inviting myself for a cup of coffee at your place next year :P
Mabrook and way to bargain! I'm still looking for coffee, it seems Starbucks is AGAIN out of 90% of their supply of packaged beans. I can only get their "bold" and "extra bold" varieties. House Blend, anyone? Columbian? Anything from Central America or labeled "medium."
Mandi
and you are welcome anytime :o)
When can I come over and sample the coffee ??
