I myself looking for a camera and I have made up my mind to buy canon D600, if u have a budget of 2,500 go for canon 550D , its DSLR and and easy to use with excellent photography and video, its next model is canon 600D with a flip our LCD but it's around 3,200 on www.mizado.com. I have done an extensive search on cameras, but one thing for sure that canon is the best, other competitive brand is Nikon. so stick to any of these two brands, u won't be disappointed. if u don't want to go for a DSLR, and need a point and shoot camera then I would recommend canon SX range, these are good ones. I myself used canon IUX220 and it produces excellent images. before u decide to buy a particular camera check its reviews on youtube. regarding the place to buy the camera some people on qatar living suggested me to buy it from salam opposite city centre bcz their staff is very helpful.
