I finally made it to Tavola in Royal Plaza... it's a gold mine :) they've got all sorts of things, excellent!... but they don't have superhero cake tins... thanks a million.

There's a shop in Royal Plaza, called Tivoli that has a good selection of shaped cake tins (and all other baking accessories) - don't know about super heroes, but worth a try.

Thanks jaelee maybe i can find a pattern somewhere or even make one and cut it out from a big rectangle... i just wished there were ready made shaped cake tins somewhere, faster (and who knows how many years the kids will want a superhero cake!) ... will probably end up with ur basic rectangular or square cake with a drawing on it :(

Princess, i checked bateel, the cakes they make are ur regular rectangular ones and they decorate them with stuff, they don't make them in shapes, so i doubt they'll sell me a mould :)

I am pretty sure that the supermarker in the hyatt had a good selection of colourings and flavourings. May be worth a try.

You can get some great recipe books on birthday cakes for kids. I know the Woman's Weekly does one. Check out Jarir's they usually have a good range of WW cookbooks.

If you can't get a book, check out online. You an usually make the basic shape by cutting the shape out from a large rectangle, it's all in the decorating and cutting that gives it the special touch and image.

Yes Princess i agree...but i actually want to do this myself, a home made cake.
