Al Meera continues expansion of retail outlets in Qatar
Al Meera Consumer Goods, which runs some of Qatar's leading retail outlets such as Géant hypermarket, is continuing to extend its presence in the country, with new acquisitions and establishment of new stores across Qatar.
Al Meera recently concluded the purchase of Al Oumara Bakery Company, which added five new stores to its supermarket chain, in addition to signing a subcontractor lease agreement for the Dasman Hypermarket building.
The company has also launched a slew of commercial centres in Abu Nakhla, Nuaija and Legtaifiya, as well as supermarkets in each of the Barwa Mesaimeer and Beverly Hills residential complexes.
This drive has increased the number of branches it runs from 23 to 32 in just four years, reports Gulf Times.
Al Meera's development plans gained momentum in 2014 when it built nine new modern shopping centres in the regions of Muraikh, Al Azizia, Muaither, Jeryan Njeima, Thakhira, Al Wakra, Al Thumama, Al Wajba, and Rawdat Ekdeem.
In the coming weeks, Al Meera will be also opening new branches at Al Wajba, Rawdat Ekdeem, and Al Thumama, after obtaining the necessary permits and approvals from the relevant authorities.
Al Meera plans to build two additional branches in the North area and Al Jumailiya where the stores will carry a unique design.
After the expansion plan is complete, Al Meera will boast 56 outlets spread across Qatar.
