1st thing you ever bought in Qatar

Speedysid
By Speedysid

This is for all those expats who have arrived and subsequently settled here (as opposed to those grown up here)

What was the first ever thing that you had brought in Qatar? Do you still have it? It can be anything-a simcard, a phone-card (though these are not available nowadays)..

Also, what was your 1st biggest splurge on something substantial? Bought an LED TV, Home theatre, Laptop..etc?

And for those who had the fortune of growing up here, it would be great to share with us one single thing which was unique to get while growing up here...

What was the first ever thing that you had brought in Qatar? - I don't think that makes sense. Are you asking us what is the 1st thing we bought in Qatar when we got here or brought into the country when we came and still have it?

confused.com :-?

First purchase - A pack of Alpen breakfast cereals and water!

Biggest purchase involved setting up my apartment, and of course a car

In the first three years I didn't buy anything except pampers. Everything else (including the Qatari driver license) were presents from my Qatari friends.

Got here Thursday evening.

You could count currency but its essentially just swapping money! So for me was a meal on the Pearl with some friends. Infact, the most I've spent my money on is food! Or maybe a few beers for the England game the other evening!

No car right now, can see City Centre from apartment but cannot go there so not much I can spend money on right now other than food!
