Hi, I came in Qatar only last March 15 (my first time) under business visa, then eventually got an offer from a different company. I was release by the company who sponsored my business visa, signed the job order to my new employer (last March 27) and currently all my paper works for transfer (to working visa) are already submitted to the immigration. My questions are:

1. How long will it take to process and have the working visa release (because as per company policy, I can start working ONLY when the visa is released)?

2. What is the difference of blue visa and that of the working visa?

3. My business visa is good for three months and it will expire on May 27, considering that my papers are with the immigration..what will happen if the immigration does not release my visa until that said date, do I have to exit the country or pay any penalties?

Thanks in advance for any response...
for those kabayans who will response..I truly appreciate it...

for the visa process it will take one day only, "if" they submit all the requirement and dues to the emigration for transferring. and after that, if you got the blue visa you will go to medical, medical take three working day before you get the result, then CID for finger print after you done all this thing you're passport along with the blue visa should bring to emigration for the sticker (Its mean visa issued to you) finish..... :)

Good luck......

as far as i know, you are allowed to stay in doha for 3 months from the date of your arrival. transferring the business visa to working visa should not be a problem, but it will all depends from you current employer with their connection from the immigration on how to fast track the procedure. we have a new staff who came in with a business visa and it was transferred to working in just a few days. good luck on your new career.
