Work visit visa vs. Residence work permit

Although this question may have been posted already I#m wondering what's the difference between work visit visa and a residence work permit. I received my I.D. card today and it says:
P.Type: WORK.VIS
and it is valid for three years. Can I bring in my family on this visa. Can i get an alcohol license?

Thanks Kaiiria, i took the different terms from MOI's website. However they do not explain the difference between visa type. Also I think my sponsor is not fully aware of the different visa types. So it is little bit difficult to find out.

As far as I know, there's only "business visa" instead of "work visit visa" for expatriates who arrive for the 1st time in Qatar. Residence permit is issued 3 months after their arrival and they will be residing in Qatar under "work visa" (work permit) as stated on your ID card. You should be able to bring your family on "visit visa" only.
