Hello friends i m new to doha. it's bin 4months i m here and working as a marketing executive.

since i have come here, i have a question in my mind......... i heard that the goverment is not issuing visa for asians. why is it so????????

when as much as i know we asians are the most hard worker in terms of physical work as well as mental work.(i don't mean that others are not, but as restriction is only on asian's).

what is the reason please tell me as i m not convenced..... with the reasons i have bin given..... that due to population and crime rate.

Qatar ha just announced the issuance of 30,000 visas for Pakistanis.. hish Asians are you referring to?

If it is Indians, then perhaps the gvernment wants to control the numbers since hey form the majority of expats here anway..

I think the basic reason is the no of people already present here from India and Pakistan. i guess its close to 30 % of the population here

You are right spice.. I feel pity seeing them working in this horrible climat exposed to the heat.

Appreciatethe law came in to force that they shud not be working between 1130am and 3pm. Accolades to government authorities.

mayasunil- it is not only their sweat but their blood and life too for those who have lost their lives or limbs whilst working here especially with low safety standards .

Its to have an expat crowd balanced in terms of enthnicity ..

PYkester- whoever it is the money goes out, unless you are talkin of Qatarisation.

Asians is been the ones started to come here..they built these countries (GCC)..there is their sweat drops on each constructions done here.. I dont know whether they are respected for that or chased out of the roads like what happend few days back.

But its a policy and its right from the countrys point of vew.

Balance.....

as expats exceed already the number of Locals.

this is to control the money going out of the country. More expat working here the more money going out of Qatar. higher the inflation. higher rates higher rents, etc... but I dont think that they will ban Asians permanently most likely it will be more on controlling issuance of visa based on priorities. do not worry if this move goes well it will benifit us expat hopefully.

Well its just because of Internal Security, its dangerous to have more number of expats working and that too from the same community in a certain place that we can overthrow the locals in no time if a situation arises...

So thats why to have some balance...NO MORE ASIANS is the current SLOGAN...LOL!!!SO RELAX>>>
