What is the best way to go about getting a tourist Visa?

I'm planning on travelling to Qatar to visit friends in Doha. Unfortunately, I'm not from one of the countries that can get a visa on arrival at the airport. To my knowledge, I thus have to get a sponsor there to apply for me. Is there any way for my friends to sponsor me? Failing that, I guess I'd have to go through a hotel. Are there any reasonably priced hotels that offer the visa service? I think the Sheraton and places like that do, but they're a lot more expensive than I'd like.

I managed to get the visa from a travel agent here in Doha for my friend of different National. It costs me QR 700. The requirement is my Resident Permit copy and the passport copy of my friend. So ask your friend who live in Doha to contact the travel agent and ask if he is eligible to sponsor you. Try call the travel agent 4439333 for further details.
