Ask your fiancee to pay for the al maha service for you. You will be met by a lady with your name on a sign inside the arrivals lounge and they will collect your luggage sort out the visa and bring it all to you whilst you sit in a lounge and avoid the queue.

Its 150 QAR on top of the visa and well worth it. he has to go to the airport to arrange it about seven days before your arrival.

It avoids any possibility that you could be asked awkward questions - particularly as singles cohabiting is illegle in qatar.

I did it for my wife and kids when they flew in from Dublin on the occassions they visited before they moved here.

We have just had family and friends to stay. They just paid for their visitors visa (100QR) at the airport passport control and were not asked any questions about where they were staying etc - they just said they were here for a holiday. There were no problems.

You are an Irish. You will get a visitor visa upon arrival at Doha airport. You have to show your passport and pay 100 QR.
