VISAS FOR FILIPINOS

Hello,
Sorry to ask some very basic questions, but:
* How does a Filipino get a tourist visa for Qatar? The Phillippines is not on the list of 33 countries which get visas on arrival.
* Can a Filipino come to Qatar on a tourist visa, and then get it converted to residency under a sponsor? (I am the sponsor, I have a maid in the Phillippines, and am currently getting approval for maid sponsorship)
* Is there any other way to bring her here, once I have the approval for maid sponsorship? I know I can go through an agency but that takes time.

A Filipina housemaid under tourist visa entry in Qatar...
She should have a relative/closed family of the "same family name" in Qatar. And this certain relative must be working as per the required categories from the Immigration. Also, sometimes she/they will be asked to show up some amount of more or less Qr5000/ at the Airport upon arrival or a credit cards will do.

In Qatar one cannot sponsor a Maid from one's country of origin. Strange isn't it?
But you can officially sponsor a maid from other countries.
Talk about making easy work difficult...well thats Qatar!
im sure my post wont really help, but these are somethings to consider...
- normally, tourist visas cannot be converted to working permit without the person having to exit qatar... im not sure if it would be similar to convert it to a kadama visa
- tourist visa can be obtained from the airport, but she would have to undergo some process in the Philippines, like having her passport and visa sent to the Qatar Embassy for authentication
- might be wise to check with your PRO if you are guaranteed to get the maid visa and time frame - if you can wait a bit then better to bring her directly with this visa, less headache... check if you bring her through tourist visa can it be converted to kadama visa without exiting...
