Visa to visit friend

Hi,

I hope this will be a straightforward one!

I am a British Citizen, who wants to visit my friend and his wife (also British Citizens) who both work and live in Doha.

Will I be able to get a visa at Doha airport, and give his address as place of residence? Or do I need to give an address of a Hotel?

Would it be best for me to apply for a visa at the airport, or for my friend to apply for one in Doha on my behalf?

I plan on visiting in mid August, so don't have a great deal of time.

Any help would be gratefully recieved.

So I'll just book my ticket, and sort it out at Doha Airport.

For a visa-on-arrival, do I need to specify where I will be staying? If so, will my friends address be OK? Or does it need to be a Hotel?

British passports are entitled to visa-on-arrival at a cost of QAR100 which must be paid with a credit-card.
