VISA TO UAE WITH QATARAIRWAYS .... A NIGHTMARE!!!!

Hello there!!!

I'm planning to spent my Eid Holidays in Dubai, as I have been in Qatar just four months, I decide to buy a ticket with Qatar Airways and process the Visa in their webpage .... big mistake!!!

First of all, my tickets are Doha – Dubai / Abu Dhabi – Doha … well, the system didn’t recognize this itinerary like “round-trip”, and then my booking number was invalid for process Visa. (Abu Dhabi is another country … somebody can show them a map?)

Step 1: Go to Qatar Airways Office: Wrong!!! In the main office they say that they don’t provide support, you have to contact the company … in India …. So you can imagine how happy I was with “QA customer service”

Step 2: Call to India … wrong!!! After many calls their answer was a problem with QA Booking Number.

Step 3: Call Qatar Airways … wrong!!! The answer was something like … “sorry, how you are processing the Visa? … Qatar Airways webpage? … let me check, this is new for me … hold on!!! …. Sorry, we can’t do anything for you!”

Step 4: Give up and book the ticket with Emirates … Correct!!! Finally my Visa will be processed and without any problem.

Step 5: Ask to refund the booking with Qatar Airways … Wrong!! … “Sorry, due to our terms and conditions we only can refund the taxes” … around USD$42 of a total of USD$330 the cost of the ticket!!!

Well, I’ll try to use the ticket to another destination … or maybe I lost my money ….. but please, don’t let it to happened again to you!!! Go to the source and book with Emirates … finally in case of any problem their answer will not be “talk to your computer in the same way you booked the tickets”

If you travel to any country and needs assistance, the best is to book an airline of that particular country.

You should have tried Emirates. They would have arranged everything from A to Z. A friend of mine did and he spoke highly of their service.

Fly Dubai is a agood option if only going to Dubai, and as others have said they process visas as well. Qatar Airways is a joke, always fly with Emirates and never had any hassles.

Once again Qatar Airways are not disappointing with their five star services. They are the most expensive and less efficient carrier in the gulf. Emirates are much friendlier and efficient. Fly Dubai is the cheapest but not always on time. Etihad has good service but limited on schedules. You have cheaper and alternate choices than QA

Try with air arabia or fly dubai. Cheap rate and they will give you a UAE visa also.

Abu Dhabi is the same country. Go look up a map (assuming you can read one)

Qatar Airways is a joke and the Q-miles are a scam. Their customer service is on par with every other business in this town; non existent.
