Visa issue
I am on visisting visa and got a job in a company in Doha. I submitted my passport and other docus for getting work permitted issued. Now I dont like the job which is assigned to me and would like to back from my new job. I dint not have my medical done, nor the visa issued. Can I ask my employer to give back my passport and will it be possible to search for some other works?? Am still under a valid visiting visa.

HOW CAN YOU GO BACK TO YOUR NEW JOB IF YOUR JOB IS NEW. YOU CAN ONLY GO BACK TO YOUR JOB IF IT IS FROM THE PREVIOUS COMPANY. AS YOU SAID, YOU ARE UNDER VISIT VISA. THEN HOW COME YOU HAVE A PREVIOUS COMPANY THAT YOU WANT TO GO BACK WITHOUT A WORKING VISA.

But my contract was not signed, nor any medical done. They told me that they will be applying for my work visa, but practically, this is not yet stamped. I hope, I can still manage to get my passport back without much hue and cry.. Since neither the contract has been signed nor my medical has been done hope, am still under some safe line ???
1)Since you are on visit Visa you cannot work legally in qatar.
2) To work in qatar you must have valid work visa or else your company will get fine around Qr 50,000/-
3) Now what you do is politely tell your sponsor or manager orally that you don't like to work. if he is good he will give your passport.
4) If your sponsor is not accepting to return your passport then go to police and human right dept.
5) First tell your manager that you don't want to work.
6) No body can force you to work nor they can keep your passport legally.
what the heck dude... u shld have clearly checked the JD before taking up the job.
you can try and speak to ur employer, though the decision would completely lie with him as he has your passport.
