hello,
my name is Silvia and I'm engaged with my boyfriend since 8 years... now he is working in Doha for 6 months and he has a work permit/visa. Is there any visa that I can apply for that permits me to stay with him for extended periods (1+months)? any suggestion? thanks in advance! Silvia

Qatar is islamic country, so such kind of visa not applicable to any nationality here in qatar, you are entitled to get visa only to prove that you are the wife of the xxx guy, it must be endorsed in the passport and marriage certificate (attested by embassy& foreign affairs). Or you can come thru some other sources (travel agency, hotel), u can come to doha as tourist (1 month) and can stay with you b.friend...

What you can do is, come to qatar and state on the visa that you are visiting your cousin. Either way you can get the tourist visa upon arrival, so I dont think there would be any questions asked. Other way is to get a business visa, I know a few people who live here for around a year on it. You can live here for 1 month to 3 months on a tourist visa, but not quite sure about it. It would be better if you check out the www.moi.gov.qa website or else you can google too.

Dear Silvia,

Please do not disclose your private matters in public bcos you are not going to live with your BF in Italy or India. You are coming to one of the GCC states and you must abide by the law of the land regarless of your origin.

Since both of you know each other for 8 years.... why don't you tie the knots... Good luck...

Yes if you are from the Original 13 European Union countries, you may obtain a visa upon arrival. If you are not then I guess it is much harder...
