Visa for ageing parent

I would like to be able to bring my 83 year old mother to Doha for as long as possible. Should i apply for a two week visa and keep on renewing, or go for the top of the range and try for a 6 month visa. I am very afraid they will not grant her a visa. Any hot tips or advice?
THANKS

can someone explain what is the meaning of wasta? I'm planning to bring my mother who is going to be 60 next May. I think I better bring her in before she is 60 and try to appeal for her visa extension.

Just invest and spend some 1M QRs buying a flat in the name of your parent(s) and get residency for them.

ur so damn right...if your parents are above 60 there is only one sure way to bring them here.....WASTA

back in the good old days Qatar was a human country where you can bring your aging parents, educate your children, get medicated and live in dignity...those days are gone now :(

I am facing this very same problem with my father who's 75. They refused him many times, they even refused to take the application. They asked me to apply via a 5 stars hotel, which in turn refused the case. knowing that I am only seeknig a tourism visa for 2 months.

The only way to do it is to use "wasta".

Good luck
