No one said you cannot. Only said you cannot do it legally! You CAN rob a bank, too. You just can't do it legally. I wouldn't brag about knowing a bunch of people who do it.

Who said you cannot? there are lots out there also qataris selling visas...depending on the nationality and trade.It is still legal as long as you have the sponsor...having sponsor means having your visa under their company name or the owner. But the sponsor will be liable to all of your actions during your stay in Qatar.
No sponsor no stay!
I think you can only stay under a sponsorship of either a company, Govt, or a person. you can buy a visa perhaps but this visa will also be from some1 or a company. It is unlike Saudia Arabia here. In KSa you can buy an independant visa and search for a job, once you are selected for a job, then you can give authorization to that company to take you under their sponsorship.
