UK Police Check

Folks,

Been offered a job in Doha, agreed the package and signed the offer letter. I am currently based in Riyadh, Saudi. However, the first stage is to get a Police Clearance Report from the UK, before getting all my certificates to the Qatari Embassy ( via British Embassy! ) for a visa.

Anyone any tips or advice as to who can do this quickly and for a reasonable fee?

TIA.

I got my police clearance very fast, within 1 week only. I used the service from http://www.cbscreening.co.uk/crb-checks

But they never asked me to go to the embassy to attest my certificates or police report. Maybe depends on the company.

I was told to get Police clearance before I arrived- but I do work with children so that was sensible.

I think it depends on the job. I work with children so of course they had to check me out.

To get the UK Police Clearance letter first - then take this along with all my documents to the British Embassy to have them all attested - then to take this bundle to the Qatari Embassy so they can issue the Entry Visa? That's what I'm planning to do, and the offer letter from the company also said to do the same.

Usually you can get the Police Clearance after arrival, since you need it for your residence Permit.

Going through the UK takes about 3 weeks - via the Met police website and then attestation.

the easiest way is to get it from the British embassy in Doha and then get it attested locally. its more expensive, but convenient.
