Hey there - I can give you some advice - we drove from Saudi to Dubai last November - I am not sure of the formalities leaving Qatar and entering Saudi apart from the fact you will need a transit visa to be able to drive through Saudi and if you are a woman obviously you cant drive and you must wear an abaya. As for the exit of Saudi and the entering of UAE - I have copied an pasted this from my blog - this was how it was for us last year: From beginning to end it took just under an hour. All it takes is to be organised and not panic. Here is a little checklist that was valid for us as UK nationals, GCC residents in November 2010:Exit KSA:White paper for vehicle export – stamped at various pointsAt final checkpoint keep the paperImmigration – check and stamp passportEnter UAE:Park car then enter white immigration building on leftGo to desk – produce passportVisa application for each passportDon’t fill in ‘travel with/accompany’ as all have own formsAdults have eye scanPay 125 AED at counter opposite immigration deskOfficer post sticker on visa formBack to immigration desk have passport/visa stampedDrive car to customs park in inspection areaGet out to get stampAfter customs need to buy insurance – 100 AED for 10 daysFinal checkpoint – check passports and collection of white paper with stamps Once you get into UAE - it is about an hours drive before you will see any civilisation so make sure you have petrol in the car and water!!!! Time from the border to dubai is about 4 hours ish - I imagine the whole journey from door to door from Doha to Dubai including borders will be about 8 - 10 hours Hope this is of some helpElliexxx
