Tourist Visa Extension

my italian in-laws are coming to doha with a 1 month tourist visa. we would like to extend their visit for additional 2 months. i have checked previous posts but not sure if they are still applicable as they were posted in 2009 and earlier.
may someone please provide a detailed procedure, like where to go and what to do first upon arrival, in order for us to apply for their visa extension in a timely manner.

i was also just recently advised that there is such a thing as Family Visa. Too bad that we did not know about it. how true? not sure as of this writing, will still have to find out once we tried the suggestion by AJ and to get the information directly from the Ministry of Interior.

we applied for the tourist visa in anticipation of the new immigration/visit laws in Doha in May 2010 but now postponed to a later date.

Hi,

You need to do a medical check up for the visitor one week prior to the expiry of visit visa. All you need to do is to take the visa copy, original passport,go to the Medical Commission at E ring Road. Get the medical check up done, collect the report after 4 days and then visit the Ministry of Interior( visa section) for extension of Visa. You need to produce original ID for this process.

For medical it costs about QR.100 (plus 15 for typing) and QR.200 for visa renewal/ person.

I hope this helps.

Cheers

AJ
