Is there any problem for female employment visa in Qatar?

I have heard that there is a current problem in getting a female employment visa in Qatar. Some says "it depends upon the nationality." Is this true? I am from Philippines and a Civil Engineer by profession and working as a Senior Planning Engineer in Dubai. Would there be any problem with my nationality & profession?

I am a Filipino Female engineer, I have signed an offer letter to work in Qatar first week of December 2010, together with it I submitted all documents that the company required.I was advised to wait for my work visa but till now (it would be around 4 months going to its 5th month of waiting) there is no update regarding the work visa from the employer..should I still be waiting for the work visa or opt to look for a new employer.??

YES THERE IS PROBLEM GETTING FEMALE VISAS BUT NOT FOR YOU ONLY FOR PAKISTANI LADIES, BECAUSE PAKISTAN GOVERNAMENT DOESN'T ALLOW LADIES TO GO ALONE AND WORK. FOR YOUR COUNTRY NO PROBLEM BECAUSE I HAVE MANY PHLIPHINES NATIONALS WORKING WITH ME AND HUSBANDS ARE NOT HERE.

Luckily, I haven't resigned from my present job yet. I am still waiting for the confirmation from the company in Qatar if they can get me a visa.

Hope it will not happen to me. I just recently got an offer from one of the companies in Qatar and the offer came from their regional office based here in Abu Dhabi.

I dont want to happen that thing to me because I will resign from my current job and plans to transfer in Doha soon.

Thank you kabayan! I have been in Qatar several times and found it almost as open as Dubai, as what you said. However, the managing director of the company where I am about to be employed with e-mailed me recently that there is a problem in getting a female visa. I am still waiting for their HR Department to contact me regarding this matter. So for now, I am trying to get infos from QLers who know such issue.
