Its been 6 months since I am working in this small private company. The company was expected to grow, but unfortunately its coming down everyday. In my contract, the term is mentioned as Indefinite, so does that mean I can resign any time with a 1-month notice?? I am contemplating on resigning any time now. Will I be entitled to any benefits viz ticket, 3-weeks gratuity etc?

Indefinite means as well as both parties are happy with working condition. You still can resign with one month notice but I am sure they will not give you NOC for your to apply another job in here. I don't think you will get any benifite by propotional.

Thanks for the prompt answers. There is not much mentioned in my contract or offer letter other than term of contract, designation, and salary structure.

If you've only been working for 6 months, you won't be entitled to any end of service gratuity. You have to be working there for at least a year.

First of all you need to get a copy of the contract and read on the benefits you are entitled to, since this is the "agreement" between the company and you.

As per the end of service benefits/gratuities they should be depicted in the contract. If they are not then sit with your employer and find out what your benefits are for the time being.

On the other hand if you resign remember that to get a new job you must be provided by your actual employer by a No Objection Certificate (NOC, do a search on this topic), otherwise you will be entitled to leave the country.

Once again look in the contract for minimum resignation time, relocation ticket, gratuties. What you sign is what you get.

Regards!!
