Switching sponsors, from father to husband, does it have to be such a big pain in the neck?

Hi guys, I've been reading on QL and talking to people and i'm at a dead end right now for answers, so if you could help, it would be amazing!
I am being sponsored by my father and it has expired a few days ago. I've been trying to get my sponsorship changed to my husband's but the process is taking longer than expected. We're dealing with the PRO at his company and he seems to refrain from providing the full list of what is required, so I keep coming across new things he needs from us, and the clock is ticking! Does someone actually know the full laundry list of what is required in this process? What I have so far is the following:
- Copies of my passport and RP, copies of husband's passport and RP, copy of father's passport and RP.
- Original ID's of father and husband.
- Signed and filled out form to request change of sponsor.
- Copy of our U.S marriage certificate (which hasn't yet been authenticated as the US embassy will not do it, therefore it is being done by a friend in the US at the moment, it could take weeks).
- Police clearance for myself and husband (I see that CID can take weeks to complete that).

Is there anything else I'm missing? And also, because my RP expired, what are the reprecussions of having all this information ready after the expiry? Is it true that I have a one month grace period after the expiry? If so, what is the daily fee? Some say it's 10QR/day, some say it's 50QR/day, others say it's as much as 200QR/day. If all this takes longer than the month automatic extension I have, can I leave the country and come back in and get another month? I'm Canadian.

Thanks soooooo much for reading me and even more so for replying.

if you have the application form, you'll find the requirements at the back of it written in english and arabic. & its better if you'll talk to 1 person working in the labor dept. for your questions.
