Sponser keeps passport
As I know that in Saudi Arabia, most of the employers/sponsers keep their employee passports all the time until person need to go outside the country.
Does the same thing happen in Qatar as well?
Is this legel or illegal? If illegal is there any law on this to do this or not do this?

My company keep it on my passport last three year, now I resign the Job going to the cancel.
Now my company made problem on me, They handed over on Passport to CID with compliant on Absconding.
This time My company said go and collect the Passport in CPI.
I want to CID, They tacked in my finger print and CID made BAN on my passport GCC country.
Please give you are valuable comments, How to lifting BAN and How to take legal action to my company (up to date i am work on same company,I got full settlement on up to date, in between company gave complain to CID am Absconding.)
its long time back when they imposed it here... sad to say that some private company still keeping their employee's Passport. :(
it does not make any different.you still need exit permit to leave this country.slavery will be in this continent forever,even you want to drive and to make driving lisence,u need your employer NOC!!!silly
