I'll visit Qatar as a tourist visa because my sister in law sponsored it for me i'll stay 1 month only but i dont have show money because only my sister in law are the one sponsor my trip. Is it really mandatory to show $1,400.00 in the airport authority? Hoping for the best of help.

My friend, ask your Sister in_Law to get an Affidavit of Support from the Phil Embassy here in Doha and tell her to send it to you and If the Immigration ask you then show them the Affidavit of Support. Why I said this, because, I did it for my son who came here last July 2009.

YES though immigration does not check everyone for this... It is still best to have the "show money" in case they you. Cash or equivalent to any major credit card is OK,

If you are travelling on Hotel Tourist visa you have to either carry International Credit Card or carry eqv QAR 5,000/- (approx USD 1,400).

This is the rule to make sure that you will be able to pay the Hotel bill. But, they do not ask for this in immigration everytime (if you are lucky).

Hi, I suppose, you are a Filipino?, If yes, the answer is, YES it is mandatory and the showmoney is counted before check in and boarding at NAIA airport .. But, when you arrive in Doha Airport, they will not ask for showmoney. (based on my friend's experience)
