It is possible to keep residency in 2 GCC countries, but on the exceptional basis. First condition is if you are transferred by the same company from one GCC country to another, i.e. sponsor in both your ID will be the same, you can keep both residencies. There are another couple of exceptions for keeping a dual residency. But this is not a common practice. So as it has been mentioned, only your PRO can give you the right answer, depending on your particular case.

KHATTAK, the fee of QAR2000 is applied ONLY when a dual residency is granted. But would it be granted or not is a big question mark.

Currently I'm preparing my Visa to Qatar, in the course of getting it I've been asked by the HR if I have residency permit in other Gulf countries, and if so I should cancel it prior to getting the Qatar residency permit.

Please call the consulate of Qatar and make sure.

You can keep both the visas by paying a fee of QR 2000/year. (If you are working for an organization/company)

Check the following link...4th point in the 2nd Category (Resident Permits) or QR 500/year if you are a student.
