RP Transfer when my previous employer has given NOC

Hi
I moved from one company to another in a Managerial role with NOC from my previous employer. The sponsorship form signed by previous as well as the present employer was submitted to Labour dept who approved this change of sponsorship. The CID clerance was also obtained However when my papers went to Immigration to transfer the RP they rejected it saying RP is restricted. I am now being told to cancel my present RP(which is expiring May 2011)and come back on a new visa issued by the new employer. A new RP issue process will start after that.
I have a few quries regarding the situation
1) The Immigration dept says that my RP is restricted by my previous employer but since they have given the NOC, does not this restrction go off automatically?
2) Can a new visa be issued to me when I have cancelled my RP but am still in the country during the Grace period of 7 days?
3)What could be the best solution in the situation?

Regards

Greeting,

To transfer your sponsership you must complete two years with your sponser. But if your complete the two years and immigration reject your application this is a different case, it may mean that your entry work visa period only for two years or less and this case you can't transfer it unless you get new one of five years work visa. Thanks

You have to run around to all the ministrys and every single police station then you will get the approval.

Dear Mr.nsjamuar

How long you had been in your previous company? If the period is less than one year; you have to exit the country and to come in a new visa. If you have completed one year in the previous company you can get a transfer to the new company without being exit .

This has been the rule prevailing here.

Once NOC is issued, the old company cannot restrict anybody.
