resident visa
My husband is on family status and we are just awaiting for the resident visa for me and my daughter. We are already booked on June 39, 2009 and as we understand we need to undergo medical clearance before Qata embassy release authenticated visa. What are the most likely diseases that will hinder us from going there? I am a nurse before and now working as an instructor in a nursing institution. My dilemna is i have been positive with hepatitis B but no manifestation> Healthy naman ako sabi ng doctor ko that usually there are no symptoms or manifestation kasi carrier lang daw ako but my daughter and son never got it and even my hsband. i have a complete check of my liver and it is healthy. will my visa be denied if my blood test results that i have hepa B. as a nurse i know that hepa b is transferrable thru blood transfusion and giving birth transfering it to your baby but all my love ones in contact with me dont have it they are all negative when they have their test . therefore di naman sila nahawa sa akin. NAd besides i wont be working in qatar just to be with my hsband and famly. please advise. thanks
botheredhubby, please share your experience in getting your wife an RP. Thanks!
Hi to All,
I am new to this site. I have been reading comments with regards the hepa B case for resident visas coz I am also an asymptomatic hepa B carrier. Gracey's postings have been a great help, very encouraging. Thanks!
HI Gracey I would like to share my husband and I experienced he is a Heba B carrier and i know God really works in our lives, coz he is healthy and Im not a carrier, we are here in Qatar for 5 years........
if your wife is under visit visa only she is not required to undergo medical test but if she is on family residence visa she will be required to undergo medical test in the country of point of origin. If she is here already you may apply for a family visa and this will require a medical test but for HIV and x-ray only. I am sharing only what i have underwent in the processing of my residence visa.
I came here on a visit visa only. When i arrived here my husband applied for my family residence visa when i am here already. medical test required for family visa is x-ray and HIV test only. I passed the medical test and now have the resident ID.
i hope this help. thanks

Yes, we're from the Philippines. I hope I will get her an RP by October and my kids will be able to come here by summer. Im getting excited to have them here finally and my kids will surely be thrilled as well. Thanks for the information. God bless you and your family too.
Yes you can get her an RP. From what country is she coming...if from the philippines it is better to get a visit visa since it will not require any medical exam. Upon arrival she will have her test at the medical commission.
God Bless
Hi Gracey! Just reading all the thread about hep B. Unluckily, my wife have the disease (we found out after our marriage). Ive been working here in Qatar for two years now and eversince I wanted to bring them here. I was so scared of taking her here because of her condition. So, I decided to file for a visit visa for her and to try to apply for RP once she's here, she'll be coming over by the the end of October. Kindly shed some light as well about the possibility that I can get her an RP. Thanks
Thanks again, I will try to find out.
I dont know if it is the same for husband. The Medical Commission is in Abu Hamur.
I dont know if it is the same for husband. The Medical Commission is in Abu Hamur.
Is it the same for Husbands, my wife is working. Which office do I need to go, Madinat Khalifa or Abu Hamur? Thanks again, all helps, GOD Bless you and all your Family.
Please kindly find me an Agency who can sponsor my visit visa to Qatar very urgently. Thanks
once you arrived here with a family visit visa you have to undergo the medical test within a week of your arrival at the Medical Commission . So i just show my passport with the visa sticker and then proceed with the medical test and waited for 3 days for the release thru online...that's it...then my husbnd company liason officer processed my residence visa .
I think if you are just joining your husband here i dont think it will require you to undergo other blood test like for hepa B unless you are going to work in a hospital or food industry. In my visa it was clearly stated that i am a housewife.
I hope my experience will help .
Good day and God bless you on your processing of visa.
Hi Graceyv, well done, please tell us how you managed to pass your medical with having Hep B? Your input will help many others.
Thanks.
its good to know you passed.
i am now here in qatar under visit visa sponsored by a travel agency..next month i will exit to bahrain then only after my visa will be transferred to family visa.my husband is working here as a civil engineer for almost 3 yrs now.
will it be okay if you tell me how you processed your visa? how you get medical exam and where?
i appreciate your response, hoping to be friend with you.
best regards,
Hi smiley 189, I passed the medical and now awaiting for the resident ID . I think it is better that you got a family visit visa first...cause i dont know what are the test for visit visa.. for family visit visa they only test for HIV and xray and blood typing before finger printing. Medical results usualy takes 3 to 4 working days to get the result. But kindly check also cause it could be the medical test is the same.I dont know much about it what i only know is the medical process i went through with a family visit visa.
regards,
how are you guys? I am in qatar now for a visit visa...next month i will exit to bahrain then transfer my visit visa to family visa.
Just want to get input from you guys...I too have hepa B.
Can you advise me what to do? can i undergo medical as early as now and not wait for my exit day?
Thank you and regards....

hi Vain,
I will be glad to be friends with you...Yes it is better to go to Qatar under visit visa since it will not require you to undergo medical. I was able to visit my husband before so there isno problem it just that your stay will be short.
For a visit visa you are only allowed for a month stay but you can request for an extension however you have to undergo a medical...i dont know the procedure though.
I will be glad to be your friend. you can PM here your email add so that we can get in touch .
regards,
Hi Graceyv,
My husband is also working in Qatar and on family status so he wants me to join him there. I too am Hep. B carrier and asymptomatic like you. Moreover, I am also an instructor in a Nursing institution. My doctor here said that I am fit to work and travel abroad as based on the result of my profile. Nonetheless I know that some countries seem to be no consideration with regard to our condition. They immediately discriminate people with Hep.B. Because of this, I have decided to just go there by the end of the semester (Oct.) on a visit visa coz I am afraid that if I immediately apply for residence visa, there is a probability that I would fail it due to the strict rules implemented in Qatar. It would be my first time to go there. Though I know i could still visit my husband, it just devastates me to know that I cannot stay there longer. Anyway, how many days were you allowed to stay in Qatar on a visit visa? I hope we could be friends and work on this concern together coz I know we both want to be with our husband and family in Qatar. It feels great to know that I am not alone in this battle. God bless you always.
just gonna visit only.
forget about residency visa, they will not approve it.
Thanks so much for all the inspiring messages. I am doing okay God is good all the times. I know He has great plans for us so I will just wait and be still in Him.
Please continue to pray for us , my husband is working things out if i can just get a visit visa.
Yes God has been good to me and my family. He has blessed me with a good husband and 2 kids . We both have a good job so why should I be depressed.
Thanks hope i can meet you when i had a chance to visit Qatar again .
all things are possible... ;-)
Hi Grace,
Don't be hopeless...... I believe that God has a purpose of everything. Kindly read if you have Bible with you HIS promise in Romans 8:28 that all things will just work together for good. It's all true in my life though sometimes we cant understand it for a moment. Chances in our own perspective is : you can still visit your husband for a month together with your kids. You are still privilege than those who's husband is working hard here in Qatar for 3 and 5 yrs now and their employer is not giving them a vacation leave. Cheer up!!!!!!
i just want to go there together with my children even for a short perod.
thanks
even if you did manage to get a visit visa, you'd still have to undergo medical exam when you get here for the extension of your visa..
It is very depressing to know that i wont be able to go to Qatar to be with my husband . The Qatar Embassy has to follow GCC guideines so what else can I do.
Is it possible to cancel my residence visa and change it to visit visa. Since i failed the medical test due to Hepa B here in Manila. The Qatar Embassy here told me to just get a visit visa instead of a residence visa since it does not require medical clearance.
Please i need info regarding this matter.
thanks
Thank you so much for that encouragement..actually i got a great career here in the Philippines but i have to give up all these things for i wanted my family to be together.
I know i have nothing to be afraid of but trust the Lord and commit everything to GOd.
Actually i have been there before just on a visit visa for a month. this time on a residen visa which requires medical clearance. So tomorrow is my schedule for the medical exam. May God be with me.
Again thanks and God bless you.
Just submit yourself to the medical exam maybe by this time the result will then be negative as you have said there is no manifestation.
Upon arrival here in Doha you will again undergo medical and blood check up for your visa. My advise is cross your finger and bent down your knees for God's mercy as it is all God's design for the family to be together. With God nothing shall be impossible then.
I too have the delima as I am an asthmatic person and during my x-ray in UAE they can't find anything in my chest (i mean i done it 5-6 times x-ray-the processing was on hold) and then I explained to their Head my situation and after 2 days I got my health card. While in Doha now, everything just go smoothly and thank God for HIS intervention. Have FAITH and GOD will allow you come here. Welcome !!!!!!!!!!
