Residency Permit

Hi all,

I'm moving to Qatar next month and I have a few questions, mainly about the Residency Permit.

-Can I rent an apartment or open a bank account before I have my RP?

-My company says I have to bring my passport, pics, blood group report, and degree certificate to then before they can arrange an appointment at the medical test centre. Is that right? Or can they make the appointment now, so that I can do my medical test on my first day in Qatar?

-How long does it take to get the test results? And then how long will I have to wait for a fingerprint appointment? And for the RP itself?

-Will a blood group report from the UK be accepted in Qatar?

-Apartment rental: what is the usual length of contract?

-Does it usually include all utility bills?

Thanks!

Sorry, I'm really confused guys!

1) Can I do the medical test WITHOUT an appointment?

2) If I need an appointment, can my employer arrange the appointment BEFORE i arrive in Qatar?

Thanks!

Yes, you can. Everything will be taken care of by the company's PRO once you arrive here.

You will need to be here first to get all formalities with regards to fingerprint, RP etc. They usually get done within a day. The sponsor will arrange for all these and the RP which usually takes a bit longer. The usual length of the contract is one year but you may also be get a contract made to for two years. This may or may not include utility bills as it is up to the owners/ agents of residences who have their own rules and this not governed by any laws. As for your degree certificate, I guess it should be attested by some authorities in the UK including the Qatar Embassy in your country. Check on this with your employer.

Urban , Do some search on this site you will get all the info you are looking for .......

There is nothing to worry for you if you will be working with a top sponsor ...... Just keep your docs in order & follow the HR messages ...... in one max two months everything will be streamlined for the next 10 - 20 years .......

Ya .. a blood group report from the UK is accepted in Qatar .......
