Residence Permit for my kids
By santilliana •
I am married with two kids (ages 4 and 9). My wife does not want to leave her job and come to Qatar with me. We can not afford her leaving the job, too. She also needs to take care of her widowed mother (mentally disabled).
By now, my mom has been taking care of our kids.
So far I have received different answers for this question but:
Can I bring my kids and mom to Qatar and get them RP without bringing my wife? Thank you.
Perhaps the best thing would be to bring your wife and kids and get residency permits for all. Your wife can then go back and live at home and only needs to come back to Qatar every six months. Your mom would have to do the visit visa thing, I'm afraid.
No problems with sponsoring your kids...but your Mom can only come here on a Visit Visa, extendable upto one year. You cant sponsor her for a permanent residentship.
Julia,
Mom is 55. I am worried because if I can not obtain RPs for them I will have to quit the job and come back to my country which is the worst scenario. My salary will be 20.000 and up plus benefits. So, you say the visa folks of the institution that I will be working for can handle the situation?
I think it is possible to bring them, as long as you meet the required salary bracket for family visa status, and you have the documents to support your plea.
I have encountered one case wherein the kids were sponsored by their mom in the absence of a husband (but she is an American so maybe it was an exceptional case for her). Ask for document support from your company liaison officer so your desire to bring your kids can be justified.
For your mom, they have a ruling here that anyone above 60 is not eligible even for a visit visa. Perhaps it is for health reasons, that's why even those who have stayed here all their life have to go when they reach 60.
