I've been asking them about the lease attestation and they refuse to release any copies of any attested property lease copy to tenants. They asked me to arrange for the attestation of the lease contract myself and cover any charges incurred. Do you know if I can re-attest the same contract at Baladiya? Please help! Thanks!
The rule is that the rental agreement must be attested by baladiya.. however, there have been cases where the document has been accepted without attestation. It all depends on the mood of the officer i suppose and the office you apply to..
Is Baladiya Attestation and Municipality registration the same thing? The rental law states the same 1% of annual rent for registration and it has to be paid by the landlord. At least that is what the rental law 2008 says. Anybody knows anything about it.
Last year I have done baladiya attesation on my rent contract for arranging my wife's visa and successfuly got the RP for her.
Now, I'm in the process of arranging Resident Visa for my new born baby (born outside Qatar).
My question is:
Do I have to get Baladiya attesation again on my renewed rent contract (FYI - I'm staying in the same flat and renewed my Contract with the Landlord for another year)
My feeling is that I will attach with my Family resident visa, my previous rent contract (the one attested by Baldiya last year) plus the current contract (without Baladiya attesation)
Any advise based on your expereice would help. Thanks in advance.

Given the 3rd party contract(from Qatari) dont have baladiya stamp given the 3rd person gave me a contract saying that im renting one part of the villa. my main concern is we required a baladiya stamp in contract for the RP of our newborn baby. Which contract do i need to get stamped, the 3rd party contract(from qatari) or the contract which is issued by 3rd party to me? and is it true that the computation is annual amount of contract times 2%? please let us know for those who experience and accomplished same scenario. If company provides a letter mentioning that they could provide family accomodation.. then still any attestation required or can i submit it along with other documents for family visa.
It is the procedure/requirements to attest a housing contract / rental agreement. As per the law it is required to register a contract with the municipality,even though we don't the same normally. The attested contract will be required only if any dispute arises between the landlord and tenant.
However MOI has insisted to have the rental agreement attested by the Municipality. The requirements are the same with them whether you use it for obtaining a new family residence permit or not.
If all the required documents in place, the process will be finished in less than an hour.(from my personal experience)
municipality is located at al saad. c-ring road corner al saad road (urban planning)-HSBC bldg. just bring the following for baladiya stamp:
1. 3 copies of agreement
2. building owner i.d. copy
3. copy of your i.d.
4. authorization letter from building owner that he is allowing you to register the flat/villa
5. land title
6. elect & water number
Note that above is if the building owner is owned by a person, but if this were owned by a company or a real estate, then you must include the following:
7. copy of commercial record
8. copy of commercial permit
9. copy of authorized signatory card
If you will noticed, it is easier to have a flat/villa owned by a person. but most properties owned by person don't do baladiya thing. So i suggest before you signed an agreement, make sure that they will provide you an agreement with baladiya stamp.
A form to be collected from Baladiya + When you collect form from Baladiya, they will give you a list of docs to attach with form. ask your house owner which municipality your house belongs to. Attestaion only done 3 days a week. Sunday, tue and wed.

some sites its 1% and some sites its 2% of annual rent.
one week back one person told me its around 2% charge.

My husband went to the Baladiya to register the rental agreement and to attest it...it cost him 700 rials for the same. Is this the right amount?
