marins you really can't understand English........read the reason again.............for you i am translating in simple english : the sister is in America who has probably medical insurance and for assistance the mother was going (and America had no problem with the mother coming) and he wanted to bring his father here, only qatar has some problem giving VISIT VISA to old people

You are saying USELESS people shouldn't be allowed in qatar..............the point is : is the old age policy for everyone(the nationals of 33 countries who are given visas on arrival), aren't those old people USELESS?.............and as everyone has said it's a VISIT VISA........I am sure if relatives are visiting we would spend more money in qatar(so it's profitable for the country)........and obviously they go back in time. It's visit visa not working visa that the age matters and they can't work so you can term them as USELESS(they are here to visit not work). Yes i agree that it's better that we send money and take care of them and we do that.  I don't want to sound arrogant but our parents live in a beautiful home and with all the luxuries...........and my city is far beautiful than qatar with rains, mountains and much better roads etc. Why we work here is because we want to further improve our living standard. and why our parents want to visit because they want to see another country(every country is different some has hot weather, sand, beaches) if they can have opportunity and if we can afford so then what's wrong with that. If you are WHITE you should not object that old people shouldn't visit other countries(as WHITE old ppl do that a lot)

your complexion may be white but you sound so petty! asians, americans, europeans etc. goes abroad to earn a living because they are needed. whether it's their skills that brought them there or they are specialised in some areas of their profession that a particular country has shortage! did u ever realise that it work both ways? there is nothing wrong at all for expatriates who are helping not only their family, extended family or even neighbours. they don't come to the country especially qatar to apply for income support or freebies. they come to work and i strongly believe that as long as they work hard, they contribute to the development of that country. i suppose you are lucky enough not only that you are a "white" man and even better off not living in asia. count your blessings and wish that other people will be as lucky in life as you are.

1)-She have a job in Romania, very good job, as majority of our ladies are working in Romania.They not having the mentality of "housewife" .She work in the same company from more than 24 years.

2)-She take care, about my old parents and about her's parents and about our properties there.

With Visa i don't have any problem, i can travel all over the world ,without visit Visa, since my country is joint the European Union. For Qatar, my future company is getting my work visa within 2 days from the date of application. Whats your problem ?

So, don't forgot, i don't have nothing against the asians, speciallly about filipna ladies... with soft and perfumed skin :-)

PS - I work more than 11 years in UAE, and from my personal experience, i can told you the filipina ladies are the most beautiful asians womens, very friendly and ..."affordable" , with reasonable amount and gifts .So, why i will "don't like asians", as you wrote mw ??? thats my interpretation of what he have written on this topic ABOUT ASIANS bringing their family here in Qatar.

From what I know, they don't issue so much of working visas for Romanian unless the position/job is supervisory or managerial.

If your wife don't stay here (in Qatar) for more than 2 weeks, maybe because (1)your accommodation issues (2) financial capability (you being technician and all that) (3) she can't find a job and a working visa?

1) i think you got confused with visa types.....irrespective of nationality if it is VISIT VISA, means for visiting only. and remember for overstay it is QR 200/- per day.

2) Value of money - it does not matter whether this Qr 200 is paid by an asian or an europian. IT IS Qr 200/=. It has same value. When a person goes to a resturant and spends Qr500, it is 500 irrespective of the nationality of the person who pays it.

3) Qatar does not balance the nationality for visitors. for working visas, yes they DO. your argument is incorrect in this instance.

4) I DO NOT LIKE you saying parents are USELESS...whether white or black and whether they are here in qatar or in your home country.

Good luck my friend to bring your parents in Qatar, i don't have nothing against you or them. Is normal to take care about them ,same my wife is getting care about my parents and hers parents, in Romania.

But just a question, please, you dont believe if you keep your mother in a high level quality hospital in India ,will be more benefit for her's medical treatment than in Qatar ? You can afford to pay for her in Qatar ?

I am just asking, because i know that in those contries the medical care is extremely expensive and when i work in UAE all my indians guys, having maedical problems, are going by emergency leave at home to get high quality treatment with less price .I know usualy the indian doctors are good doctors, i went in UAE to the indian dentist and she solve all my problems there, because as my contract i has madical insurance, FULL.

You will be surprised to heard that in Europe usually english is NOT a very important language and every contry having his own national language !!!

I know, many asians where surprised when i told them, but this is the true, what we can do ? In Europe, in many european countrues if you dont know the local language you can't do nothing.In my coutry if you walk on the street and you wil try to speak with the people in english, nobody will answer - or only few number, youg people - because we don't studying in the school.Pure and simple is NOT important in our life.Now, even in my country young people start to studying in the school, but is very dificult for them ,that's a strange language very hard to understand.Same chinese for example.

French language is very usualy, because is same as our mother language, may be 40% same.And majority of people understand and can speak.Italian also, but anyway, not english.

I remember when i went for interview for Abu Dhabi job,11 years ago, we where more than 100 people but only 3 guys, (me and other 2 people) , we can understand and spoke something with the recruitors.Fortunately they where some French managers from that company,and they accept as by the moment, at a glance, because they took only people with high profesiional experience.They where not interested about our english level.

In Abu Dhabi they call an indian teacher to teach us, by french language - and in short time, mant guys start to sepak elementary english.

So , don't believe english is a "universal' language !

Is "something" not, "univerasl" !!!

My main reason to bring parents here is because as my parents leave alone back in india and i have a sister who lives in America right now she needs medical assistance because of that reason my mother will be traveling to America Since my father will be alone so wanted him to stay with me until my mother comes back.

I have seen many people saying that Asians bring there families so whats the big deal if we bring them here ,they gave birth to us and they have every reason to stay with us and after death Allah will ask me did i look well after my parents or not .

I have studied in Manchester univ and stayed in Uk for three years being a white country(UK) they don't differentiate among people why the hell these people differentiate,If they don't need us ok don't process our visas and send all the Asians out of your country then your country will be more worse than yemen or Moroccan or Lebanon or some north African country,because of our F****** politicians/corrupt organizations we have to suffer in this gulf region.

and Nobody dare to tell Asians tell where we should live.

If they dont need us just cancel our visas we would be happy to return to some other country .

I already explain the words and I ask my apologies, if i am disturbating somebody,but you have to undesrstand me what i want explain, not only parents, in those GCC countries, all NOT working people, are not welcome.

When i want brought my wife first time in UAE , first they ask me the reason, after they ask me to bring a lot of papers, and in the final they ask me my salary. When i told them the salary,and i put warranty 1000 dirhams, the approved in few seconds without ask me any comments.So, important are money for them, not how much you are loving your relatives.

For me is impossible ever to bring my parents here, 1) -First : because is not in our culture to stay together with parents or relatives,means in the same home/house , and You should fight to get your home, where you will stay with your wife and children, not with other relatives.

2) - Second: because my parents are not interested about muslim countries. Is out of our tradition, education and culture to take care about other religion, even if we have muslims , and romano-catholics, for example in Romanian, natives, means born in Romania. In my contry religion is NOTHING, only few (extremely small number of people, usualy the oldest ones) are following daily the religion, the life is hard we don't have time for prayer. Time is money !

We keep the God in our hard, not by external manifestation, same as go to prayer togheter, religion is something very intimate.

Now, you can understand ? There are tousend of Romanians in UAE, I know personally hundred of romanian people there, but i never heard any Romanian to bring his/her parents, or brothers, cousins... in UAE .All of them bring wife/husband or girl friend/boy friend.We send them money at home, we came here to make good money. That's all.I don't blame anybody , you can bring who ever you want , just i told you there are diferent cultures .OK ?

Before you say you are white, check you english............white people dont have such a rubbish grammer and spelling mistakes.......from your language and they way you you express we can make out from where you are.............you said parents are useless!!!!!!!!!!!they are useless only bcoz they brought children like you. Of course you can't find out european labours, because in Europe salaries are more big than here.And i know the treatment that they give for asians, the companies consider the poor asian labours as 3rd category people, i know.

You don't believe? I get in touch when i work in UAE with many guys from (sub)contracting company and they complain about theyr company not giving the salary on time, they don't provide human acommodation conditions fro living - as per contract and a lot of other problems.

When i ask the guys about the owner, many told me thay are ...indians, not local arabs.

So, what i can believe ? They forgot from where they came and what means to be poor and starvated ?

I refused, I told them to give me in any european language to sign and i will do, but they throw me outside from Immigration office and they threaten to put me in the ...jail.I call the Romanian Embassy ,and all is solving in a civilizated manner....

My dear friend before posting any statement be sure that it will not insult any person or community. This is not your mistake it is a part of western culture or maybe you don’t’ know about an asian expats and his attachment with his family or you never feel any racial discrimination as you are a white.

I am also in UAE last 6 years there as you said was correct we can see Asian crowds in malls and streets. But this does not meant that all the asians brought their whole family and stay there for long time. I wish to ask you something.

1.Did you see any labours other than asians in construction field of Gulf countries especially UAE ?

Why the other races can’t do labour works ?

2. Why the companies in gulf gone for overseas interview every year especially in south asian countries.

3. Why not they are going to European countries?

For the development of the gulf countries they need asian work force but on the other hand they considered as third class. They need cheapest labours and also know that these Asians can survive any living conditions.

As the guy says racial discrimination is a naked truth as I also experience in dubai also. But the poor guy who sitting in immg. don’t know he should face the same situation whenever he visit any European countries.

Marins,ur intention was good presumably,but the problem is that u misunderstood why parents are brought here..its just a visit visa..if you have noticed,there are many Indian here,so its only natural that people back home(who havent been abroad/visited the gulf countries) are curious as to what kind of place this is when so many of their grandkids/relatives are here..so people get their parents over as long a a visit visa lasts..not to stay forever as you have assumed..the balance in the population has always existed..bcos the locals are few in number.(or was your complaint that there a re too many Indians here..haha..i guess thats what u dont like.).if u look at it traditionally too,people from the subcontinent have always traded with these parts more than others..n its true,theres actually nothing to se here except the malls!!! n a few days of dunes..boring even to al ot of parents who do visit actually..my parents left within a month..

Check a job in Bucharest or Constanta, there are the best cities of the country.

If you are graduate in Filipines, you are lucky,because as i know ,some of Pakistany university degrees are not recognoized in Romania and you have to pass again a lot of examination, within 1-2 years ,to get Medicne practice certificate.In this time you have to work same as male nurse for example, not having the right of signature as doctor.

Basher, looking at some of the cabin crew they hire these days in QA, I'd say your granny has a pretty good chance of getting the job...make sure she asks for senior citizen allowances. ;)

If you are doctor you are welcome at any time in Romania, we have a scarcity of doctors right now, because tousend of romanians doctors, left the country to work in the west countrie, for more better salary.

They got 500-600 euro, minuus incom taxes, in Romania , and in the west contries, Germany, italy, Holland, France...they get up to 4000 - 8000 euro/months,minus income taxes, depends of course ,of speciality and experience.

Now the Gouvernment try to bring Filipino doctors, they alredy brought more than 500-600 , as i know.The reason is the language, many filipino doctors speaking spanish language, which is close with our national Romanian language.

An obvious case of "Lost in Translation". Lol

usually a guy from the reception area has a quota for every purposes of every person's request.. you just misunderstood him for not giving you a token because your line is already full.. that's the reason why he ask you to come back tomorrow again..

and for the european lady who got a token.. because her line is not already full.. you got me?!!..

I just try to explain the reason for which they not give visas for asians, and this one is happend in UAE also, not only in Qatar. I saw many times asians trying to take visa and they reject them without reasion, or for ridiculous reasons

Change your mind, I am not racist, in my country also, 10% of the population are black people, gipsy if you know , if you heard about this group of people.And some of them are mixing with white people, means interracial marriage.

I am from Romania, my dear friend, english is not my mother language and I never studying english in the scool, all I know in english, is because i am studying alone from the books. I am "self-taught person"

English is very dificcult for me , because is not matching anymore with my mother language, same chinese , for example.

But the ideea, please remember,the main ideea about the local GCC countries people, do don't change the ballance of the population number, the main ideea, i know this one as well even in my counyry, the asian can't take visa, if they don't have a job, about the indians, i spoke.

The visitors are welcome from West, people with many money in the pocket, what for to bring poor asians,for example, what they can spend in our country ?

This is the official reason but they will told you front side ! I know one indian engineer from Dubai, he wait 4 months to get Romanian visa, but he couldn't take and his company try to help him, they pay refundable guarantee fees 2500 dollars, but they gave him visa for 3 weeks only.

And remember, he is going for job purpose !!!

Mr. European, in case you havent understood the nature of the question posted its a VISIT VISA valid for normally 6 monthis only and i certainly didnt realise that YOU SIR are the spokesperson for all the immigration officials in the GCC!

parents above age of 60 are not allowed to enter qatar unless you have some reliable source to bring them here!! but still people do try, coz they love them and wana look after them.

VISIT Visa is for VISIT and doesn't allow them to SETTLE down here or are you suggesting that every Asian expat's parents are living illegally here?

Asluu, it's better for you to go there early so that you can catch the manager at 7am just in case you will be needing his approval.

For Marin, We Asians love our parents that's why we want to share to them what we have now. If we think that touring to another country will be good for them, then we'll do that. Like most of us, we grab the opportunity to bring our parents in Qatar. We are giving them the chance to travel abroad just before they get too old to do that.Parents is also part of our family.

I understand you, i don't have nothing against you or your family, I know the ties are very strong between the asians and their parents, they use to stay togheter full life, but the problem is with those nationals from GCC conutries, not with me, my dear friends !And for the name of the God, if you send monthly money at home, you can make them the life more better than you bring with you, in Qatar.

For me is not necessary to bring my parents, I am european, my parents having good pension, because they work and pay insurance for pension more than 35-40 years each, so they have more better life in my home country than anywhere in the world, at their age.Is not only for my parents, is for all the europan people which they paid the insurance when they where young and having jobs.

This Is the main reason , believe me ! Why you have to bring your parents, uncles, cousins.....

I spoke before few years in Abu Dhabi, with a local guy from Immigration department, and he told me that they are sceared about asians in general, because since one man came , whitin 2-3 years he will bring his whole family there, and they will become ...eternally there !!!!

I am NOT understand WHY you have to bring you parents in Qatar ? You are ...3 years old, and you need parents care ?

Sorry, is not a racial discrimination, this is a LOGICAL discrimination, if you can understand me,Qatar is a small contry ,they don't need anymore "useless" people, means people to stay only, without producing something ,because I suppose your parents came only for visiting you , not for work!

This is the problem my friend.They know ,the white people if brought the family for visiting ,they will keep 1 week, 2weeks, may be 1 month....., but very sure,they will return, which is not the situation with the asian people ,which one become eternally if they access in any country in the Persian Gulf. I believe you can help them more your parents, sending monthly money amount , then ...bringing them in Qatar.

I work more than 11 years in UAE and I was dissapointed to see more asians on the streets than...local arabs people.That's strange and ridiculous !Every asian bring the parents, uncles, cousins, etc, etc...., and nobody return at home ,than you believe they are ...local people !

Please, no offence, but this is my point of view as my experience here in the parsian Gulf area.

PS - I am white man, and I never bring somebody from my family, except my wife, for MAXIMUM 2 WEEKS !!! WHAT for to brought them ? What's the REASON? What they can see in those countries ???? Only sand and water ? If I love them, i will go at home every 6 months for vacation, not spending the money without reason, to ...bring them here !!!
