Question on Re-entry Visa?

Hi, my husband has sponsored my mother under visit visa. But when we went to immigration, they have a new rules now that a visit visa is good only for 1 month and can only extend upto 3months only.They can give upto 6months visa extension for immediate family only (mother, spouse, brother, sister)But since my mom is mother in law of my husband, they can only give upto 3months. If we wish to have her for another 3months,she need to exit Qatar and come back again.

But when I speak to our Liason Officer, she said that I just need to fill up the re-entry visa form to apply for another 3months extension for my mother WITHOUT EXITING Qatar. I can renew it with the same visa number.

Could someone help me to clarify what is the truth please.
