PPD test for Wife

Dear Friends,

Request you to please advise. My wife was here on a visit visa and I have applied for the RP and got the same. She had undergone her medical while on visit visa for the visa extension. Now after we got the RP, I was told that no medical test would be required to be done again.We went to the medical commission and showed them the medical receipt which was done earlier. As my wife is now pregnant, they did the PPD test and asked us to come after 48 hours and then they will confirm if we can proceed for the finer print section or not. Why have they done the PPD test when we had already done the medical. Also her current visit visa is expiring after a week. So should I extend the visit visa again in case the medical process takes time or can she stay as we have the RP done and it is only coz of medical that we have not proceeded with the finger print to get the process completed. Any advises would be highly appreciated. Thanks!!!
