I went last year with two friends over from from UK. We drove from Dubai and despite being British, as a GCC resident, I was the only one who had to pay!
Dude it all depends on your nationality so ask your embassy... For me being Canadian you just pay upon arrival
Thanks for your help guys
i will try contacting my embassy as well as the omani embassy i wish it will be easy and upon arrival... i heard its nice :)
thanks again
Issuance of visa on arrival depends on the profession written on your Qatar residency. If it is either doctor, engineer, manager etc, then you can get a visa on arrival. But if profession written on your residence permit is something else or vague then it is better to get visa from here and then proceed.
You can get further information from Oman Embassy in Doha. Contact nos. are 4931514/4931910.
I just went this weekend, and the flight is about one hour and 10 minutes. You can purchase a visa upon arrival (though do check with your embassy first) for 60 QR.
Oman is beautiful, enjoy. :)
