Not Coming Back After Vacation
By incrediblehulk_66 •
I know this has been asked a thousand times. But I just want to confirm what I heard recently that a new law has been implemented that not coming back from vacation will be banned not only here in Qatar but also the entire GCC countries? Is this true?
What's wrong with doing it the old fashioned way: informing your employer that you want to resign, wound up all your affairs, clear up all your rights and obligations , cancel your residency then go on your merry way.Why the need to 'run away' ? If it is to avoid paying up bank loan or other debts then beware, I've heard horror stories about someone who got nabbed while transiting Dubai airport due to unpaid loan to Qatar banks. And who knows ? Your prospective employer may want to contact your current company for a reference check. Or you may need good conduct certificate and police clearance from Qatari authorities, say if you want to migrate to Australia or Canada. What will you record says then....?
most of my friends who were terminated are now in dubai without any problem.
Depends on ur luck!
Completely NOT TRUE, my wifes colleague did a runner from her teaching job and went to Dubai, the school contacted her new school but Dubai said thats your problem not ours...
No, I think is not true
I agree, this is also what I read in the Newspaper, the entire GCC is linked. NOC is required from each country before leaving.
Though, dont know how far it is exercised.
not sure how far this is true....but I do know that an expatriate who left Doha two years ago without informing his employer was asked to get an NOC from his previous employer if he wants to enter UAE. I believe all GCC immigration records are interlinked and there is no way to escape for those who cheat!
