hi friends,

one of my friends is working in a US company in Qatar under a local company sponsorship. he got a new offer from another company which is also in Qatar. he wish to move to the new position as it is attractive.

now, he is not sure whether the present sponsor will give him an NOC or not. In case if the sponsor is not giving an NOC do we have any other options? if NOC is not given is it possible for him to work in Dubai branch of new company for a period and come back to Qatar?

Please share your advices as he is still waiting for valuable inputs before putting up his resignation.

The issuance of NOC from the side of the employer is never their obligation, however i supposed he should have cleared it when he joined them locally as he has been given NOC as well when he joined the new company. If he has not cleared these things (NOC) he might be facing a problem soon if he has found better offer. NOC is always a requirement whenever anyone wants to transfer. If he doesn't have means he cannot. He must certainly need to confirm if they will give him NOC otherwise no chance. Going to other country means cancellation of his visa and he can only come back after 2 years. Think well before making the next move. If he speaks to his current sponsor that he has better offer they might make problem for him. In some cases, you might also want to consider paying for his NOC. Other requires the employee to pay an amount so they will issue. Again, some companies allows these things, some do not.

If the present employer is not issuing a NOC then your friend will have to stay wehere he/she is.

Without NOC (even locally hired people) there is no chance for sponsor change.

If your friend resigns without having a NOC then he/she has to leave the country and will be banned for 2 years to re-entry Qatar.

Regards!!
