Hi folks,

I would like to share my experience which I went through recently to get a new born Visa for my Child (Indian). According to the MOI Website and some threads in QL, I thought it will be easy. But it was not that much easy as you think. Proper Paper works needed for the same. I applied for it based on the below points.

1. Me and My wife, both are working in Qatar, under different Sponsorship.

2. My baby was born in Qatar – Women’s Hospital

3. I applied for the visa under my wife’s sponsorship (She is working in HMC) as my salary will not satisfy the eligibility criteria.

4. Passport can be gained from the Indian Embassy

Please find the below Forms and list of Documents to be submitted in Indian Embassy for New Born Passport. Go Early in the morning and expect a big Que over there. (Going with ladies may give you an advantage)

- Apply in EAP - I Form (1 Set)

- Parents' passport copies,

- Birth certificate original,

- Birth certificate copy,

- Form I - (2 Sets mandatory)

- Data sheet - EAP - 1D Form (1 Set)

(Forms can be downloaded from Indian embassy website)

A-Documents required.

1. Birth Certificate

=> It can be obtained from women’s hospital. Please make sure you have applied for it before leaving the hospital after delivery. You can collect the certificate after 3 Days//20 QAR Per Copy.

2. Copy of Qatar Attested marriage Certificate

3. Copy of Both Husband and Wife Degree Certificates, Qatar attested.

4. Passport Copy of Both Husband and Wife. (Make sure spouse name is added on both Passports)

5. ID Copy of Both Husband and Wife

6. Salary Certificate of Both Husband and Wife. (In HMC, you have to apply for it in the office near to the housing section) – make sure it is in Arabic

7. Job Contract of both Husband and Wife - Arabic

8. Housing Agreement –

9. Water and Electricity Bill

10. NOC from Husband’s Company stating that Company don’t have any objection about baby’s Visa.- Arabic

11. Bank Statement of Husband – 6 Months (fetch it from bank. Don’t use the online versions as it will not be having the Bank’s Stamp)

12. Make sure that “Date” is mentioned in every documents.

13. Dont forget to add Child's Passport Copy

14. Please carry all the original Documents with you in the time of Submittal. They may ask you for the Originals.

B-Documents to be done at the typing centre

1. There are two forms to be filled. One is Family Visa Form and the other one is with kid’s photo and thumb impression.

2. NOC from the husband stating that he don’t have any objection about his wife sponsoring the baby. Put a Sign on it.

C-Where to Submit

1. Submit all the documents with Family Visa form (Which is mentioned on B.1, The other form with Child’s Photo and thumb Impression – Keep it with you) in MOI Gharafa – Gate Number 3. Upon the receipt of your Application they will issue a receipt with Application number.

2. Sit back and have some rest for few days. Check the status online. The MOI will consider the application under visit. So check accordingly. If MOI need some more documents, the will make the status as “Deferred”. Go to gate Number 3 Again and submit the Documents accordingly.

3. Once the status is “Ready to print” go to MOI gate Number 1 with the receipt. They will issue the Visa. No payment required till now, according to my experience. (You can go to any MOI Centres for the same)

4. With the Visa Paper, go to Medical Commission and pay the fee for Baby’s medical. No need to go with the baby as they are not doing any physical Check. The fee is 100 QAR Only. They will not accept cash, only Cards.

5. You may check the status of the medical in Supreme Health Council’s website. Wait till the status appears “FIT”. Normally it will be within a Day’s time.

6. Go to Any MOI with the below Documents.

- Visa Copy

- Form with Photo and Thumb impression (refer B.1)

- Id Copy of Both Husband and Wife

- Passport Copy of Both Husband and Wife

- Original Passport of Baby

- Credit/Debit Card with balance of at least 100 QAR as they don’t accept cash

- Original ID’s of Both Mother and Father

- pay the cash and wait for 15 Minutes, you will get your Baby’s RP with a validity of Two years. Cheers!!

The Rules can change any time. This procedure is from my personal experience.

Regards,

Linto

MM, It was bit strange for me too. But they are asking for all of these documents nowadays. Just Got my Baby's RP Yesterday.

Asking for parents education certificates is also not related now when the baby has already arrived home .................. !!!

It is very strange, If wife is sponsoring her baby , why a father would object even more tough is why the husband's sponsor would object to an employees wife giving birth to her own baby & getting the baby's visa at her expenses ............ !!!
