My friend also experienced the same thing being puzzled with the result because he was also re-medical. They keep on checking via website but to no avail. His visa is about to expire soon when he went back to medical commission they said the result is ok then he is scheduled for finger printing the next day but the admin in his office said the result is still not found in the website. Is it necessary to have your name posted in the website to go for finger printing? What could be the other reason why the result is not found in the net yet the staff in the medical commission affirmed him that its ok and advice that he is scheduled for finger printing the next day?

One of my friends and his wife have HCV positive. My friend is an engineer and trying to get job in Saudi Arabia/Qatar in petroleum/petrochemical industry and want to move with family. Would he be rejected on the basis of HCV as positive ?

Apple said in one of the messages at forum:

"If you work under category written below, you need to pass all these test: HIV test, Chest X-ray(PTB) test, Hepatitis A, B, & C and others.

1. Medical

2. Para-medical

3. Food Handlers workers

4. Primary School Teachers

If your job doesn't belong to these category, you ONLY need to pass HIV test & Chest X-Ray(Pulmonary Tubedculosis) exam."

Dear Apple, please explain how correct/authentic is the above statement (is it official ?). If it is true, then my friend should not worry about HCV because he does not belong to any of above 4 categories. All members are requested to please comment because it is a little bit confusing. Apple! please give your private e-mail address.

hi. what i can advise is report to the hospital as scheduled. they will not send you home right away even if you ptb positive. they will give you medication. but they are knowledgeable enough if there's complication with the ppd test to your current condition. and they are not only relying from the ppd result. there are some things to take under consideration...

Hi

Yes according to my information they test for Hep C, as it is chronic disease, they are very concerned about it.

My request to all guys here.. take care of yourself and people around you from these diseases. If someone got it dont leave him/her alone, its part of life. This can happened to anyone.

I personally think there should not be medical restriction for people employement unless the disease is contagious.

Best Luck

i was informed yesterday by our personnel that i have to take medical again for the third time. i was thinking that i would be taken xray again but when i arrived to the medical commission and gave my name, they gave me a referal form where my xray diagnosis was written below. i was diagnosed with "left pleural thickening...for evaluation". the other 2 people also received a referal form but their diagnosis were the same, "right apical pleural scar... for evaluation".

in my referal form,

purpose of referal is:

-Assessment

-Supervisor

but to the other 2 people:

-Assessment

-Electrician

I am wondering what are these Supervisor and Electrician.

But in my own understanding, Assessment with Supervisor which is maybe i will be having an interview with the supervisor.

and this electrician, maybe for laboratory tests or medication or what?

Medical commission advised us to give our referal form to our admin and have an appointment with a certain hospital here in Al Khor.

Is there anyone here went from this situation?

Please share your knowledge about this matter....do i still have HOPE?

thanks...

Coloured shirt is not a problem, but must be a shirt w/o buttons, zipper or underwired(plain) so you dont need to replace it w/ their x-ray gown. If your hair is long, dont forget to bring hair clip or pony tail to tied up your hair.

Also, try to be there early!

By Serendipity• 4 Jul 2007 20:39

The notes in the employee handbook for my organisation say that it's advisable to wear a white t-shirt so you don't have to get undressed for the x-ray, but there is no mention of underwired bras. All my bras are underwired, would this be a problem?

Bonjiek,

I was x-rayed twice too. It was also a life time shock for me as I am not having any previous history of TB or pneumonia or any other disease related to lungs. But my Doctor friend told me that there might be various other reasons. The X-ray might be not clear or taken wrongly. Possibly it could be as simple as that.

Eventually I passed the medical tests and finger prints and C.I.D. everything. And i got my RP.

So, nothing to worry. Hope for the best.

Based on your medical history and your own story, i dont see any reason for you to fail in the medical exam. It is only their SOP to repeat X-ray twice or thrice to get assurance that the abnormalities detected from your x-ray results is not of that communicable disease(PTB). I believe, the Doctors are also knowledgeable enough to determine an active PTB or just a scars.

Wish you good luck!

Hello guys. Please help me about this. It has been bothering me since i had my re-ray.

I had my medical tests 2nd wk of june. I had xray and blood test. After 2 wks my boss told me to go back to Medical Commission for Re-medical. I found out that i have to take another x-ray. This time, I was x-rayed twice, one in a normal position and the other is a side view position raising my left arm and holding my hips with my right arm.

I am worried with the result. honestly i already worked before in Bahrain for 1 year and 2 months and had also my medical- xray, eye test, blood pressure, and physical check up. I am worried here in Qatar because they said they're very strict in issuing the RP or working permit. Actually i have a medical history about my lungs. I suffered pneumonia when i was very young(11 years old). and i was inserted with a tube under my left armpit to remove the liquid inside my left lung. but the doctor did a mistake so he inserted it again on the upper part of the previous one.

15 years passed, i found out that the doctor's mistake left a scar. that's why everytime i had an xray they found a pleural thickening in my lower left lung. And this is sometimes mistakenly diagnosed as TB+ but I always insist that it isn't and i had my sputum exam and thank GOD i am negative in TB.

So my question is, would they consider if you have a pleural thickening in your lower left lung? since i believe this is not contageous nor a disease....though i am working in an oil/petroleum company but I am assigned in the office, Computer Operator.

please help... i am so worried... whatever result with my 2nd xray i will post it here...

God Bless to all....

note:

i heard from my friends here that those who have hepa or any blood disease, they will have difficulty in getting a permit to stay in Qatar. For TB or lung problem, you will undergo 3 times xray until doctor will finalize the findings if they will consider you or give you medication and after 2 weeks, take another xray...

Good luck and God Bless to all who are having problems in getting a Residence permit or working permit in Qatar...

Sorry to say, but the mandouh or mandoob, should have check w/ the medical commission not the immigration!

I am an petroleum engineer from Singapore and have been recently offered a job by Maersk Oil Qatar. I informed them of my being a carrier of the Hepa-B virus - otherwise i'm healthy. Soon after that, they pulled the plug on the offer, saying i have no chance of obtaining RP. Apparently, their "mandouh" has checked with the Immigrations people about my case and got a flat NO, i.e. I cannot work in Qatar and any other GCC countries. This contradicts what i've been reading in this forum, especially those by Apple. Can anyone help me?

Everyone is checked for Hepatitis C, not just those in medical or food business.

After the medical your sponsor is alerted via sms about the result, pass/fail. Assuming all is good next is fingerprinting and after that your residence permit can be processed.

Once you are done w/ ur medical exam you can check w/ the medical commission at least after 3 working days. Just show your receipt number or passport copy at the male counter section and you'll get to know if its ready or not. For a medical employees it usually takes about 2 wks to have the results done due to other test

(e.i. creatinine test) that has to be sent to HMC for investigations.

In your case, you are only required to undergo blood test(HIV) & Chest X-ray(PTB), so i think it wont take long that much. Dont you have mandoop/representative for your company? he is supposed to follow up all these things and you can always check w/ him.

Good Luck!

Is the medical exam result always takes 3 working days? beacuse my colleague did the fingerprinting 2 weeks after his medical exam and he said the medical exam result takes 2 weeks. And the only thing for him to know if he passed the medical exam is because he did the fingerprinting process. And is there anyway to know if you pass the medical exam?

sIf you work in the admin jobs then u only need to check HIV and PTB results after 3 working days. If you work as a medical, paramedical or any food handlers jobs...you also need to check hepaB and hepaC :)
