I was offerd a job from a reputed company in Qatar and asked a medical to process my visa.In my medical I have found out that I have a pleural thickening in my right lung. The consulatant chest physician has given a letter saying that I do not have any sickness and it is harmless in my case and I am fit to work. I also under went for a Tuberculosis test and got negative results. would I get my work visa.
Dear All,
I intend to come to Qatar in search of employment, my area of qualification and experience is Internal Audit which is an office job.
I have done my primarily medical which include blood test and chest x-ray. In chest x-ray following are the finding.
1. Bilateral apical pleural thickening is noted.
2. Rest of the visualise lung fields are clear.
3. Both costophrenic angles are clear.
4. Cardiac shadow is normal in size and configuration.
5. Both hila and mediastinum are normal.
6. Visualized bones are intact.
Conclusion
1. No evidence of active lung disease
I do not have any signs of HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis (Past or Present) and Hepatitis B & C.
Please advise is pleural thickening is acceptable or is considered normal ? Your feedback will be highly appreciated.
i am a staff nurse here in doha so i can give u advises on what you supposed to do before coming here. first thing is you have to submit sputum exams for smear and culture for acid fast bacillus(AAFB) for 3 consecutive days to know whether your sputum is positive for tuberculous bacilli or not. second step is to do chest X-ray to know what kind of infiltration you have in your lungs. if you have an OLD PTB then you have to prove that you completed therapy for 6 to 9 months. you have to get and bring with you a medical certificate from the doctor who supervised for your treatment.i want to tell you that qatar government is very strict when it comes to medical clearance for all the people coming here in doha. they have the MEDICAL commission where you will go to submit yourself for blood investigations and chest x-ray. the qatar government has a very strong campaign to eradicate pulmonary tuberculosis in this country in year 2010. so just be sure that before coming here you are free from tuberculosis disease otherwise you will not be allowed to get a residence permit or visa. goodluck.
im checking also how to contest this kind of situation
Oh, am so sorry, my mistakes! Please ignore my first comment.
I thought you are already in Qatar as a visit visa and transferring to residence visa. Also I thought, you are referring to Physician at Medical Commission.
My apology......
The Physician already told you that you are FIT TO WORK. Which means, you have the answer to your question.
Unless your JOB TITLE is targetted for Qataris? Then, chances are slim for you to obtain a work visa.
