I'm planning to bring my daughter here to live with me as I want to give my mom a freedom of worries when it comes to taking care of kids. My question is, would there be a posibilities since I'm a single mom. At first, What would be the best thing to do?

Your opinions and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I brought my children over on my own, but I needed a certificate of Parental Responsibility. Not sure if this is just specific to my employer- but check it just in case. It's tough at times and I'm currently looking at getting a maid- but they're having a blast!:) Good luck.

As a single mother and if your income is high enough, you should have no problem bringing your children to Qatar. You didn't mention the age of your daughter, but you will want to ensure that she has a school placement (if she is school aged). International schools are very expensive and if your employer is not prepared to pay the tuition, that might be a show-stopper for you. Busing to school is usually the parent's responsibility or an added cost.

Also make sure that your accomodations are child friendly. Discuss these issues with your employer prior to your arrival and get written (or email confirmation) that they will support your bringing your daughter. Your employer's mandoub (or fixer) will probably need to help you navigate all the red tape.

NOTE TO OTHERS: Single fathers are NOT allowed to sponsor their children for residency.
