HELP ME!!!
I was let go from my position of employment due to redundancy (too many people in the same position). My former employer is paying for tickets for both me and my spouse to return to the U.S. I am scheduling to fly at the end of July.
My question is this: Between now and the end of July, I will more than likely have the opportunity to be interviewed for other Gulf countries in-person. Will I be allowed to exit Qatar for these interviews or will I have to still get an exit visa from my former employer? Will my employer even grant me an exit visa since my employment ended already? What can I possibly do? I don't want to show up at the airport to use a ticket that an interviewer has paid for and then be stopped my immigration!!
Is it possible to get my visa cancelled as quickly as possible but still ask for a ticket to the U.S. for the 29th and then leave for the interview and come back as a tourist and stay in Qatar until the 29th? I think I mentioned I am an American. Thanks for your assistance.
I agree with Hasmub. Be nice to your employer and he may look favourably on you, and who knows, if he ever wants you back soon, it'll be easier for him to hire you locally :o)
If you cancel your RP you have to exit qatar within seven days. Request your current employer for a multiple exit permit valid for a certain period (say till end of July.
You need an exit permit to leave but from what I know the rule was revised and you do not need an NOC to come back on a tourist visa. However you would need the NOC to come back on a business visa or work visa.
Good luck
you need an exit permit to leave
Better inform your sponsor that you are going out of Doha for a personal interview, if he is considerate, he will provide you with an exit permit. It is just a matter of how you will handle things with him.
Yes, you will need an exit permit to leave. If your residency permit has been cancelled you will need an NOC to come back even as a tourist - or at least that is what SOME US citizens have experienced. In Qatar, it is not always possible to give a definitive answer. Can you get an NOC just in case?
